British manufacturer Land Rover brought the 2011 Range Rover Autobiography Black Limited Edition to Carmel, California, where The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering event is taking place, in an attempt to polarize the limited edition model and remind the world that Range Rover is celebrating 40 years of existence.
Designed to be “the most luxurious, most exclusive Range Rover model ever built”, the model brings mostly visual enhancements. Finished in Barolo Black, the vehicle rides on 20-inch Diamond Turned 10-spoke alloy wheels.
The front end features a Titan mesh front grille with a bright chrome edge and a black surround, while the side vents have been fitted with a new mesh, adorned with bright chrome bars and a black surround. To further distinguish the vehicle as a special model, an "Autobiography Black" tailgate badge finish is also featured on the Range Rover.
At the interior, the carmaker went for handcrafted Grand Black Lacquer-finish trims for the doors, instrument panel and center console. The shift knob and heated steering wheel are finished in Grand Black Lacquer and leather.
Otherwise, the model is equipped with just about every gadget and system one would expect from a Range Rover: Vision Assist Package (VAP), Automatic High Beam Assist (AHBA), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), and surround cameras. Infotainment is insured by a 1200-watt harman/kardon LOGIC7 audio system with 19 speakers.
According to the information released back in June, the 2011 Range Rover Autobiography Black will be manufactured in a limited production run of 700 units. They will be sold globally, for an yet unknown price.
