The all new Veracruz earned Five-Star crash test ratings, the highest government rating under NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program. Veracruz received Five-Star crash test ratings for both frontal and side impact tests and it received four stars for rollover performance.
TheCarConnection.com selected the all-new Veracruz mid-sized crossover as one of the five best vehicles for the summer holiday.
2006 Hyundai Honors and Awards Corporate Awards

Hispanic Business Magazine names Michelle Cervantez, Vice President of Marketing Hyundai Motor America, one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics”, in its October 2006 issue.
BusinessWeek named Hyundai 75th in the “Top 100 Global Brands” for 2006 issue (August 7, 2006). Hyundai placed above Porsche (80) and Nissan (90).
BusinessWeek named Hyundai one of the “Big WINNERS” in its annual “Top Brands” edition (August 7, 2006). Working with Interbrand, the magazine names the 100 most valuable brands in the world. Last year Hyundai was ranked 84th and this year has moved up to 75th slot.
In the 2006 Initial Quality Study (IQS) by J.D. Power & Associates, Hyundai was the highest ranked non-premium nameplate, and third overall – up from fourth the previous year.
Out of 73 plants in North/South America, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA), which opened in 2005, was ranked tenth for plant quality in the IQS.
John Krafcik, vice president of Strategic Planning and Product Development, was named a 2006 Automotive News “All-Star.”
Hyundai ranked 2nd among all brands with a median selling price below $24,500 in the 2006 Strategic Vision Total Value Index.

The Azera was named a 2006 Car of the Year Finalist by
Motor Trend, the world’s leading automotive authority.
The 2006 Azera earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) top crash test ratings for frontal offset impacts. The Azera received a “good” rating overall (with performances ranked comparatively as “good,” “acceptable,” marginal or “poor”).
The Azera won the AutoPacific 2006 Vehicle Satisfaction Award (VSA) for the Large Car category, and was also the top-ranked car.
Forbes.com named the Azera the Best Luxurious Car for a Nonluxury Price in its 2006 “Best Cars for the Bucks” list.

In 2005, Hyundai improved its position in the 2005 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study with the third best non-luxury brand ranking in the industry - up from fourth in 2004.
Hyundai Motor Company was recognized for its total shareholder return performance over the past one and three year periods by Pricewaterhouse Coopers in its 2005 Global Automotive Shareholder Value Awards. Hyundai posted shareholder return of 80% and 329% over the one- and three-year periods, respectively.

Elantra
Strategic Vision, Inc. named Elantra “Best-in-Class” in its 2005 "Customer Delight Index," based on the Edwards Customer Delight Scale ®. The scale provides a comprehensive look at the product attributes and benefits that explicitly create "super-positive" delightful responses from the primary drivers of the vehicles.
Santa Fe
Santa Fe owners rated it tops in the Standard Mid-Size SUV category for the fourth year of the past five (since Santa Fe was introduced) in the AutoPacific 2005 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. Santa Fe with the all-new Chevrolet Equinox.
Sonata
The Good Housekeeping Institute awarded the Hyundai Sonata with its "What Women Want" Automotive Satisfaction Award for the entry midsize car category. The study, based on an annual J.D. Power automotive study, is designed to find out what women find most important when buying a new automobile.
Tucson
The Northwest Automotive Press Association named the Tucson the 2005 “New SUV of the Year” in the under-$25,000 category at the annual MudFest event.
Owners of the all new Hyundai Tucson rated it tops in Vehicle Satisfaction for the Compact SUV category in the 2005 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Survey. Tucson shared the award with the Honda Element.
Hyundai's all-new compact SUV, the 2005 Tucson, was named the highest quality all-new model launched in the industry in 2005 by J.D. Power and Associates in it annual Initial Quality Study.
The Hyundai Tucson SUV earned honors from Mother Proof, LLC (

Hyundai Motor America moved up 8 rankings from last year and finished in a tie for second place.
The Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan was named the 2004 Award recipient in the J.D. Power and Associates IQS for having the highest initial quality in the Entry Midsize Car category.
Every model in Hyundai's U.S. model lineup is now ranked above industry average in IQS.
In the 2004 J.D. Power Customer Retention Survey, Hyundai ranked 4th with a retention rate of 57.6%.
Strategic Vision:
