Dear Mr. Chul,
I hope this email finds you in good health. First I would like to apologize in front for the long email, it only extends to how much I am frustrated.
Less than 9 months ago, I bought a brand new KIA Sportage 2011 car, chassis No: KNAPC8117B7069383 from ALJABR Dealership in Dammam, Highway Branch. That turned out to be one of the worst decisions I have made in my life, and this is why I say this:
• Since I got the car, wind has been coming in from the sun roof which makes a very disturbing noise over 100KM/h, I reported this many times, it has been sent to the KIA maintenance shop 5 times, and has not been solved since then.
• A vibration problem started at the Mileage of 8000 KM on all speeds, it was reported over 6 times and sent to the maintenance shop 6 times staying there for an average 3 days each time, over the course of 3 months, this was partly solved 4 days ago, I say partly because there is still noises coming from the rear wheels. At first they made me pay money for fixing the wheels, although I already informed them that I have checked the wheels at the wheel dealer shop, the problem was not solved, they would fix it without even testing it, I say this because I monitored the cars mileage before and after giving the car, they would not drive it to see the problem, nor test it after they did. To this day, it is yet to be solved.
• Over 45 days ago, fuel started leaking when I fill up the tank, I sent the car to KIA maintenance 5 times till now, they changed the tank! And still the car leaks fuel when I fill it up, and fuel also seems to evaporate all the time as the fuel consumption is higher than average. Not only is this a lack of skills, but also a hazard to me, my family and anyone in the road! They just gave me the car today and I still have not tested it.
• The service people simply don't care, they do not mind sending you back to maintenance many times rather than testing the car, they are unprofessional, they lack basic human interaction skills and nearly never answer their company or mobile phones. They also don't mind taking your car for 2 days before they actually start working on it, forcing you to rent cars and spend extra un-needed money, simply because they are unable to organize their schedules. On one occasion I talked to the worker who was supposed to fix the problem with the sunroof, HE DID NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!! He just took it off cleaned it and put it back on!! To this day it has not been solved, they tell me they have ordered parts from Dubai.
• I tried reporting my problems to customer service too many times, I even contacted KIA in Korea once, nothing works with these people, to be fair I contacted a customer service representative that was helpful, but for lack of time on his part since he is following up on many other unsatisfied customers; he failed to follow up with me completely. Please note that I do not want to deal with anyone in KIA SA anymore, that turned out to be completely useless.
• The simplest parts need at least 2 weeks to be ordered, I requested a change for my steering wheel 2 weeks ago since its skin is changing colors, still waiting.
• I have paid an extra 2500 SR on car rentals and taxis for the periods of time spend waiting for the car to be fixed, not to mention the days I did not rent a car hoping it will finish soon, which it usually does not. I have spent a big deal of my time leaving work and spending my time at KIA, whether it is to hand them the car, take it, or to have fights with them when they do not answer the phone or delay fixing it. This is causing me trouble with my direct manager. Also I have missed many public and social occasions because I am too busy attending for my "Brand New" car, or because I do not have it in the first place.
• 5 days ago I requested to have the mud plastic protector over the front left wheel to be changed since it was torn. Changing it would take no more than 15 minutes by an untrained person like myself. They charged me for the labor of 2.78 hours!! After a 30 minute argument they went down to 0.7 hours.
I bought a "brand new" KIA car because I love their cars and new designs, I have been a proud owner of KIA products for more than 7 years, but lately owning a "BRAND NEW" KIA car is a great burden that is taking out a lot of my time, most of my thought, and a good amount of my money between car rentals and taxis. I have been feeling totally frustrated and angry over the course of 3 months now, I am not kidding you when I tell you that this "BRAND NEW" car is ruining my life on many levels.
I am supposed to drive to Jordan for vacation in 8 days, having the condition of the car, I will now have to leave the car and buy a late ticket which will ruin my financials and my vacation in general, not to mention a big extra cost of renting a car in Jordan rather than having my own. I calculated the extra cost having that I do not get to take my car, it would be around SR 5,525!! Who is going to pay for this?
I bought the car as "Rental that ends with ownership", which means I only paid a down payment and the monthly payments of 1507 a month, up to the end of this year. What I request is simple, and within my full right, KIA SA are obviously unable to fix my car, even after trying more than 5 times on each problem, changing parts and costing me money and effort, and since they do not show any interest in answering my complains and listening to me, I want my car to be taken back and my money to be returned completely including the extra cost of trying to overcome the many times I was left without a car while it was in maintenance.
I want to get rid of this curse of a car, with as minimum losses possible for me, I promise to buy a KIA later in Jordan when I settle there, but right now I am giving up on KIA altogether. I hope you can assist me with this. Waiting for your kind response.
